Add up the time your team spends in meetings explaining what the AI meant, clarifying contradictions, or fixing promises it made without authorization. Multiply those hours by the hourly cost of everyone in the room. That's what your "efficient" AI is actually costing you.

But here's what I keep seeing: companies racing to deploy AI to match competitors, capture efficiency, or check a box for their board. They're optimizing for speed. What they're actually getting is a ticking clock until something breaks publicly.
The question for you as a leader isn't "should we deploy AI?" It's "how do we deploy AI in a way that captures the upside without creating catastrophic downside risk?"
The companies that win over the next five years will be the ones that:
Capture the real efficiency gains from AI without pretending the risks don't exist
Build governance infrastructure that prevents failures instead of just reacting to them faster
Stay flexible enough to adapt as technology, regulations, and customer expectations evolve
